Stakeholders from Agege, Orile-Agege and Ojokoro communities on Thursday converged for a high-level security meeting with the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, aimed at addressing rising criminal activities across the axis.
The meeting, hosted by the Executive Chairman of Orile-Agege LCDA, Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu, brought together political leaders, traditional rulers, security operatives and community representatives, including the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Hon. Ganiu Vinod Obasa, and the Executive Chairperson of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji.


Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Vinod Ganiu Obasa raised concerns over increasing cases of cultism and drug abuse, identifying Oke Koto and Moricas as areas requiring urgent security intervention.
In his welcome address, Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu described the appointment of the new Commissioner of Police as a moment of pride for the Agege community and emphasized that security remains a collective responsibility requiring cooperation between residents and law enforcement agencies.
The Commissioner of Police assured residents of decisive action to restore safety, urging communities to support security agencies with credible information and warning against harboring criminal elements. Traditional rulers also expressed worry over the growing spread of cultism among youths, stressing the need for immediate intervention.

The meeting ended with a unified commitment by government officials, security agencies and community leaders to strengthen collaboration toward achieving lasting peace and security across the Agege axis.
