As part of efforts to strengthen waste management, the Chairman facilitated the delivery of a modern ten-tyre compactor truck on April 13, 2026. Equipped with a hydraulic lift, waste compressor, and safety cover, the truck is set to enhance efficient waste collection and support the operations of PSP operators in collaboration with the Lagos Waste Management Authority. This initiative reinforces the administrationโs commitment to a cleaner and healthier Orile-Agege.

Orile-Agege LCDA commemorated World Tuberculosis Day 2026 with an advocacy walk and free medical outreach, demonstrating the councilโs commitment to public health. The initiative featured widespread sensitization on tuberculosis, free screenings for TB, malaria, and HIV, as well as health education for residents. The program strengthened community awareness, encouraged early detection and treatment, and reinforced collective efforts toward achieving a TB-free Orile-Agege. the walk was led by Mrs Idowu F. Oluwabukola the Chairperson Orile Agege LCDA

In a bid to improve governance efficiency and administrative mobility, the Executive Chairman presented official vehicles to the Vice Chairman, Hon. Wale Fayemi, and members of the Legislative Arm on April 16, 2026. This strategic move is aimed at enhancing service delivery and strengthening effective administration within the LCDA.

Demonstrating strong leadership in addressing security challenges, Hon. Akinola Idowu Abiodun hosted a high-level stakeholdersโ security meeting on April 16, 2026, with the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, alongside key stakeholders from Agege, Orile-Agege, and Ojokoro.
The meeting brought together prominent leaders including Hon AbdulGaniu Vinod Obasa the Executive Chairman Agege LGA and Hon Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji the Executive Chairperson Ojokoro LCDA to address rising concerns around cultism, drug abuse, and other criminal activities in the axis.
The Chairman emphasized collective responsibility in tackling insecurity, while the CP assured residents of decisive actions to restore safety. The engagement concluded with a unified commitment among government, security agencies, and community leaders to strengthen collaboration and ensure a safer environment for all residents.
