Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu (Dodo)
Executive Chairman of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area

As the Executive Chairman of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area, Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu (Dodo) today, Monday 27th April 2026, proudly attended the Lagos State Government’s Conference 57 workshop in collaboration with Hibad Strategic Solutions Limited. The two-day programme, held at Watercress Hotels in Ikeja, Lagos, was designed to strengthen fiscal administrative due process and enhance internal revenue generation across local government councils. My presence underscored the commitment of Orile-Agege LCDA to advancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance.

The workshop provided a comprehensive platform for council officials to deepen their understanding of fiscal responsibility and modern revenue strategies. Key sessions focused on streamlining administrative processes, ensuring compliance with due process regulations, and adopting innovative approaches to boost internally generated revenue. As the Mayor my participation reflected our dedication to equipping Orile-Agege LCDA with the tools necessary to meet the financial demands of grassroots development.

One of the highlights of the programme was the emphasis on practical solutions tailored to the realities of local councils. Discussions explored how councils can leverage technology, improve financial reporting systems, and strengthen institutional frameworks to maximize revenue potential. By engaging actively in these deliberations, recognizing that sustainable development at the community level depends on sound fiscal management and resource mobilization.

Beyond technical insights, the workshop fostered collaboration among leaders from different local government areas. It created an avenue for peer learning, exchange of best practices, and collective problem-solving. My interactions with fellow chairmen and officials reinforced the importance of unity and shared vision in driving Lagos State’s broader agenda for growth and prosperity.

The Conference 57 workshop was not merely ceremonial but a reaffirmation of leadership philosophy, anchored on accountability, innovation, and service delivery. By embracing the lessons and strategies shared during the programme, Orile-Agege LCDA is poised to strengthen its fiscal discipline and revenue generation capacity, ensuring that the council continues to deliver impactful governance to its people.
