{ The Last Saturday (MAY-30th) Environmental Sanitation Is Around The Corner }
In the heart of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), a new wave of environmental consciousness is being championed by Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu, fondly known as DODO. As the Executive Chairman, his leadership has consistently emphasized the importance of a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment for all residents. His latest initiative sets the stage for a transformative sanitation exercise that will not only beautify the community but also safeguard public health.
On Saturday, May 30th, from 6:30 am to 8:30 am, the people of Orile-Agege LCDA are called upon to participate in a top-notch environmental sanitation exercise. This is not just another routine clean-up, it is a civic responsibility, a collective effort to reclaim the beauty and hygiene of our surroundings. Every household, every compound, and every street corner must echo the spirit of cleanliness.
The exercise goes beyond sweeping floors. It extends from rooms to compounds, from drainage to the streets. By clearing clogged gutters, removing refuse, and tidying up living spaces, residents will be directly contributing to a healthier environment. A clean community reduces the spread of diseases, improves air quality, and fosters pride in our shared spaces.
Hon. Idowu emphasizes collaboration with the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and Private Sector Participants (PSP). Working hand-in-hand with these agencies ensures that waste is properly collected, transported, and disposed of. This partnership guarantees that the efforts of residents do not end at the doorstep but translate into a lasting impact across the LCDA.
To make the clean-up easier and more effective, Hon. Idowu has invested in two brand-new compactors. These machines will enhance waste collection and disposal, ensuring that refuse is swiftly evacuated from the streets. This forward-thinking move reflects his commitment to sustainable environmental management and his determination to provide residents with the tools needed for success.
The message is clear: come out en-masse. This is not the responsibility of government alone, it is a shared duty. When residents unite in action, the ripple effect is powerful: cleaner streets, healthier families, and a stronger sense of community. Civic responsibility is the foundation of progress, and sanitation is one of its most visible expressions.
Hon. Idowu’s vision is not limited to one day of cleaning. It is about instilling a culture of environmental stewardship. By participating in this exercise, residents are laying the groundwork for a future where cleanliness is second nature, and sustainability is a way of life.
